zkRace (formerly DeRace) generates revenue from the outset with a range of diverse and sustainable models. The platform generates revenue through transaction fees within the game, NFT asset drops, and the breeding and trading of NFT horses. zkRace, formerly DeRace, is both a GameFi infrastructure and a leading Web3 horse racing game. The game contains not only the race itself but also other parts of the industry:

zkRace’s zk-rollup based infrastructure ensures enhanced scalability and transparency within GameFi projects. It supports cross-chain compatibility, high transaction volumes, and ensures all transactions are transparent and provable, overcoming traditional blockchain limitations.
NFT horses
Like real-life racehorses, zkRace NFT horses have different traits that define their rarity, performance, cool-down time, and ultimately, value. NFT horse is a valuable asset that allows you to participate in races and earn payouts.
zkRace NFT horses perform differently on various racetracks: some horses are faster on dirt, some on turf and some on synthetic surfaces. Performance also depends on racetrack length: some horses are excellent in short distances while some are outstanding in long ones.
Players have to race your NFT horse in different hippodromes to find out what type of races your horse prefers.
Horse breeding
In zkRace two NFT horses create a third NFT horse. The player can select male and female horses and add Love Potion NFT to initiate the breeding potion. The horse of the next generation is crested. (For example Gen 0 NFT horses generate Gen 1 offspring). Both NFT horse tokens are sent to GA (Genetic Algorithm) via Ethereum smart contract. GA generates a third NFT horse combining genes from parent horses, with +- 5% deviation (RNG factor is applied).
Horse renting
Horse owners can safely rent their NFT horses on the zkRace platform to other players for breeding or for racing and collect the rental fees in zkRace tokens.
Races
Up to 12 horses participate in each race. Every horse participates in the race for a set fee. The winner of the race collects a % of the participants’ fees and also any other additional prizes, which are then automatically transferred to the winner’s account.
Tournaments
From the up-to-the-point championships to the massive week-long tournaments, NFT horse racing is elevated to the next level. Juicy prize pools, sponsored events, the thrill of the competition and triumph of being on the top - the tournament feature brings it all.
Race entry mechanics
All races are displayed on the upcoming races board. Players can access the board and filter the races by date, entrance criteria, entry fee, player quantity, hosting hippodrome, prize pool and race type to select the most suitable ones to join.
All horse races take place in hippodromes. In the near future hippodrome ownership will transfer to the community and it will be set in NFT hippodrome tokens, therefore, the player can own a part of the whole hippodrome. Holding more than 50% of the total NFT tokens makes the player a hippodrome manager which guarantees them a right to administrate races and manage the hippodrome.
As in the real world, the hippodromes in the zkRace metaverse vary in track length and surface. Some racetracks are shorter, and some — longer distance.
The tracks in the hippodromes also have different surfaces: it varies among dirt, turf or synthetic.
Performance boosting assets
NFT horse wearables are in-game utility NFTs that build the immersive game mechanics. The main way for players to acquire NFT horse wearables are as the in-game activity rewards. More specifically, by being active on the platform and accomplishing missions and unlocking achievements. Equipment NFTs can also be purchased on NFT marketplaces.
What technologies zkRace (ZERC) created and used?
GA (genetic algorithm) is similar to how biological genetics work in reality, where genes — DNA — store information about the rest of the body. For example eye, skin and hair color, hair structure, body type, and height. In a GA, numbers represent various characteristics.
Combining NFT with Ethereum smart contract allows players to breed horses (in a GA, it is called a crossover). It creates another unique token out of the other two, keeping some of the information (features) previous tokens had written in the smart contract. RNG Algorithm
Controlled RNG generates random numbers within set boundaries (e.g., 0-10). In zkRace, it's used for breeding and racing.
- Breeding: Combines parent genes with ±5% deviation (e.g., parents with speed 20 produce offspring with speed 19-21).
- Racing: Determines race winners, with higher stats increasing chances but retaining randomness so any horse can win.
zk-Rollups
zkRace leverages advanced zk-rollup technology for affordable and transparent transactions.
It minimizes gas fees and circumvents blockchain congestion, providing a seamless gaming experience while still ensuring transparency and storing the in-game data on the chain.
